Scholarships


Each semester, HBSA awards a various number of scholarships to its members, recognizing them for the great efforts throughout the semester. The following is a list of the scholarships HBSA has to offer this semester divided by our 5 HBSA pillars. Each scholarship is awarded at banquet, unless otherwise specified below.


Presidential 

The Presidential Scholarship is one of HBSA’s most prestigious and competitive scholarships. This is a two-part scholarship, the first part consists of the completion of various requirements such as attendance to key community, corporate, and fundraising events, outlined at the beginning of the semester. The second part consists of a submission of a short video outlining the value members have gotten from HBSA. Please check our weekly newsletters to see when the application for this scholarship is available. After filling out the application, the detailed requirements will be sent to you via email.


 

Familia Pillar

Familia Scholarship

Members will get to nominate another member who has been very helpful throughout the semester and has made an impact in their lives or in HBSA, As well as embodied most of the pillars. Please check our weekly newsletters to see when the application for this scholarship is available!

Top New & Returning Member of the Semester 

This Outstanding Member Award is given to both a new and returning HBSA member that has demonstrated being active during the semester. The winners are selected based on the amount of points that they accumulate by participating in various HBSA events. The winners receive a scholarship for the upcoming academic semester.

Helping Hand Scholarship

Members will get to nominate a past officer who has been very helpful throughout the semester and has made an impact in their lives or in HBSA, As well as embodied most of the pillars. Please check our weekly newsletters to see when the application for this scholarship is available.

Bigs and Littles Scholarship

There are two HBSA members; one returning & one new member who showcase a true familia bond throughout the semester. The relationship will be watched over by officers and the membership chairs to see who benefited the most from both the program and the events.


Leadership Pillar

 
 
 

Competitions 

Throughout the semester, HBSA hosts a mock interview, public speaking, and case competition. The top 3 winners of each competition will receive a scholarship at banquet.  Please check our weekly newsletters to see when the sign-ups for each competition becomes available.

Top Alumni & Mentor Pair

The winners of this scholarship are based on the relationship between a Mentor and Mentee. During the semester, members have the opportunity of participating in a mentorship program with HBSA alumni, and the member who puts in the most effort to grow that relationship will be awarded the scholarship.

 

Academics Pillar

Getting A’s Pays Scholarship

Submit a screenshot of A’s you earn in exams to the Outreach Team (outreach.committee@hbsa-bauer.com). Due dates will be posted on the newsletter and your name will be entered into a raffle for every A you earn. The raffle and winner will be chosen at our General Meetings, but will be awarded at banquet along with all scholarships.

4.0 Scholarship

Members can submit their unofficial transcript as proof for their 4.0 GPA from the previous and/or current semester. The first deadline will be to submit their 4.0 GpA of the previous semester (Spring 2020) and the second deadline will be to submit their 4.0 GPA of the current semester (Fall 2020). Then, all submissions will be combined and entered into a raffle.Due to the nature of this scholarship, the 4.0 Scholarship is awarded after banquet.

Scholastic Improvement

Members must submit their unofficial transcript to the Managing Director (managing@hbsa-bauer.com) at the beginning and end of the semester to verify your scholastic improvement. The winners are selected based on their academic improvement and involvement within the organization throughout the semester. Due to the nature of this scholarship, the Scholastic Improvement Scholarship is awarded after banquet.


Professional Pillar

Corporate Member of the Semester 

Throughout the semester, HBSA has Corporate events where our Corporate Partners host workshops for the benefit of HBSA members. The winner of this scholarship is based on points acquired at corporate events. Members can acquire corporate points by attending these events and successfully networking with recruiters.

Linkedin Scholarship

The LinkedIn scholarship is exclusive to members attending the LinkedIn and Resume workshop. During the workshop, members are given a list of criteria for their LinkedIn profile. Once members meet the criteria and connect with all 13 directors on the Officer Board, they are eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to the member who has successfully grown their network and who made significant posts about their involvement  throughout the semester.

Rock the Well Scholarship

This scholarship is meant to help our members take advantage of all the resources Bauer and Rockwell have to offer. This scholarship should be a double incentive for members because not only will members be able to earn a scholarship through HBSA but if the resources provided by Bauer and Rockwell are utilized correctly, the possibility of landing an internship or a full time offer increases.

Community Member of the Semester 

Throughout the semester, HBSA hosts interactive community service events where members have the opportunity to give back, volunteer, and make a difference. The winner of this scholarship is based on points acquired at community events by attendance and donations. Please check our weekly newsletters for more information about community events.
